Aspect Capital, one of the world’s top 10 Commodity Trading Advisor managers, announced that its subsidiary, Aspect Capital (China) Limited, was successfully registered on Dec 13 as a private fund manager with the Asset Management Association of China.
This officially grants the company its license as a private securities investment fund manager in China.
Located in Lujiazui of Shanghai, Aspect Capital (China) Limited is the ninth foreign-invested private fund registered in 2024 and the first in the securities category this year.
As a wholly-owned subsidiary of Aspect Capital Limited, the company was established on March 14 with a registered capital of 20 million yuan ($2.74 million).
Its legal representative and general manager, Han Lin, brings extensive experience from institutions like Systematica Investments Shanghai.
Leveraging its parent company’s 30 years of expertise in CTA strategies, Aspect Capital (China) Limited plans to expand its business operations in China.
In addition to its private fund management operations, the company is also exploring opportunities to develop a Qualified Domestic Limited Partner business.
Headquartered in the United Kingdom, Aspect Capital manages assets totaling $8 billion and is recognized as one of global leaders in quantitative investing, alongside AHL and Winton.
The firm obtained Qualified Foreign Institutional Investor status in China in 2022.
Founded in 1997 by Anthony Todd and Martin Lueck, Aspect Capital is renowned for its expertise in trend-following, macro, currency, and multi-strategy investment methodologies.
